Akure, the Ondo State capital, was agog on Monday with residents discussing in groups the Court of Appeal verdict, dismissing an appeal filed by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu against his service of summons in the case filed by Mr. Segun Abraham in respect of the last governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
With the dismissal of the appeal, the appellate court has now cleared the road for the hearing of the substantive case at the Federal High Court.
The primary election of the APC in Ondo State, conducted on November 16, 2016, was challenged by Abraham who came second in the primary.
Abraham had claimed the election was characterised by fraud and irregularities. He said it should nt stand.
But Akeredolu who eventually went ahead to clinch the governorship poll had challenged the service of summon on him.
