Kwara OPC to Launch ASCO, Neighbourhood Watch

The Kwara state Fractional Coordinator of Oodua People Congress (OPC), ‎Alhaji Morouf Olarewaju has disclosed that the state OPC would unveil Asa Social Cultural Organisation (ASCO)‎ to foster cultural practices in the state without discrimination.
Olarewaju made this known at the new year prayer Organised on Saturday in Ilorin.
‎He said Neighbourhood Watch security Organisation would also be launch which he said enjoyed the backing of the state government for kin security surveillance in the state.
He added that Quranic competition would be organised to promote ‎Quranic reading culture in the state.
“As part of this year activities we will launch Asa Social Cultural Organisation (ASCO) Gani Adams launched Oodua festival which he uses in getting money for himself but ASCO will be for Kwara indigenes and residents which will be devoid of discrimination,it will accomondate all Kwara residents be it Igbo,Hausa and Yoruba,ASCO will feature various cultural dressing,feeding and other way of life
“Quranic competition will also come up to promote what Ilorin Emirate is known for,Neighbourhood Watch,a security Unit encourage by state government will as well kick off.
Similarly weekly radio programme will be air while OPC members will be will empowered to reclaim the snatched glory as Oya festival will be celebrated under ASCO instead of Oodua day” he said.
The Coordinator commended all members for their contribution towards the success of the prayer emphasising on how paramount it is to begin the year with prayer.
Earlier the Cleric who anchored the prayer Alhaji Omar Musa urged the OPC members to distance themselves from all social vices and unnecessary fetish display.
