He said the Local Government Autonomy the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) are protesting for is achievable just like the states and Federal government operates without interference.
Agunbiade said this on Wednesday while speaking with Westernpost ‎Correspondent in Ilorin.
“What is going in Nigeria presently shows that Federal government can pay minimum wage with billions of Dollars recovered day in day out,we are agitating for ‎N56,000 as minimum wage, the current N18,000 can longer do anything it can not even buy a bag of rice, we recognised the fact that the FG has sent the Bill to federal House of Assembly we appealed to members House of Assembly to hasten to process remembering those are the reasons we elected them so as to be out of this crisis,” he said.
He noted that before the FG approve the new minimum wage all states of the Federation should be carried along to avoid differences.
“Then before it’s approved we want the FG to carry all states, LG along so as to avoid disparity adding that the current 18,000 is not paid by all states across the nation.
“NULGE protest was a directive from the head quarter and NLC was wrote to give them the support as they are calling for Local government autonomy, they too want to be getting their allocation directly from FG.
“He said with the suspension of Secretary to Federal Government, Mr David Babachir Lawal  and National Intelligent Agency (NIA), Mr Ayo Oke, there is nothing  impossible in this country we know president Buhari is ready to work, though another protest is going on in Abuja,is it a good one on their part,” he added.
According to him on salary arrears in the state,he said they are expecting the London Paris club funds and we have told the state government to inform us the stakeholders anytime the fund comes so that we know the amount they got together,so we know the numbers of months arrears to be settled as Local government SUBEB, Local government pension, local government workers, outstanding tertiary institution workers, other percentage outstanding are to be settled.
He urged the state government to intensify more effort in paying up these backlog salary arrears as the Kwara Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) has taken all the revenue points from the Local government Areas.
