Ondo REC Calls For Mutual Understanding Among Voters

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), who has just been posted to Ondo State, Barrister Mutiu Agboke, has called for mutual understanding from the electorate towards the staff of the commission mostly in the just concluded voters registration exercise conducted by the commission.

Agboke, who made the plea during a media chat with journalists in Akure, the state capital, on his assumption to office as the new REC to oversea the affairs of the commission in the state.

According to him” l sincerely want to appreciate the good people of Ondo State for their understanding on issues relating to elections so far and for the peace the state is known for among committee of states in Nigeria, l still want to maintain that, the commission will not in anyway disappoint them and together we shall lift the country higher”.

While fielding questions from journalists on the achievements of the commission in recent time mostly on the newly created voting centres, he said that the commission has increased the number of polling units to 17,928 for easy accessibility during voting.

He further stated that the about 2, 726 Permanent Voters Cards ( PVC ) have been distributed so far in recent time and that the commission has successfully done 1,036 inter state transfer of PVC and 1629 intra state transfer.

The REC enjoyed the people of the state to count much on the commission for better Ondo State so as to make the country great.
