PDP Seeks Forgiveness For Failing Nigerians

The National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmed Makarfi, on Wednesday, appealed to Nigerians to forgive the party and support it for the liberation of the country from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.

Makarfi spoke at the presentation of N250m scholarship scheme to indigent undergraduates in Osun West Senatorial District by Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, in Ede, Osun state.

The PDP National Chairman who was the guest of honour at the occasion, urged those that have left the party to return, saying the party has realised its mistake.

“In PDP, it is going to be promises made, promises kept.We are going to have full time governor in PDP.

“No doubt, we have our problems, we have made efforts to correct it, we are not like the government that doesn’t take correction.

“We apologise to those the party have offended and we called on those that have not joined to come and join.adding “Nigeria has suffered enough, the broom is no longer sweeping well. Come and stay under the
umbrella.

In his address, the Senator representing Osun West and brother to late Isiaka Adeleke, Ademola, disclosed that 66 students were selected in the 10 local government  of his Senatorial district.

He said the programme was a sustenance of a scholarship award scheme instituted by his late brother Adeleke in 2007.

“Our graduates shall be afforded the opportunity of jobs within limited available vacancies at the various federal agencies without let or hindrance or undue favouritism.

“Let me emphasis however, that the jobs are not just there for the asking, hence my resolve in the nearest future to establish skill acquisition centres, as a means of reducing the problems of the underprivileged, the helpless and the disadvantaged in the society,” He promised.

He appealed to PDP members and its leadership in the state to close ranks and present a credible candidate that would win the governorship election come next year.
