The Lagos State House Of Assembly has suspended all legislative activities from Monday July 13th to Sunday July 19th.
Making the announcement on Friday evening, the Clerk of the House, Mr Azeez Sanni, said that legislative activities would resume on Monday 20th of July.
” All committee meetings, assignments and visits to Lagos State House of Assembly is hereby suspended from Monday, July 13th to Sunday, July 19th, 2020. Work resumes Monday, July 20th, 2020″, announced by the Clerk.
It would be recalled that a member of the House of Assembly, Honourable Tunde Braimoh, died early hours of today ( Friday) at age 59.
Until his death, he was the member representing Kosofe State Constituency 2 in the Assembly and Chairman of the Committee on Information, Strategy and Security. He was a second term lawmaker.
In the 8th Assembly, he was first the Chairman of the Committee on Information, Strategy and Security before becoming Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights, Public Petitions, Justice and LASIEC.
Between 1999 and 2002, he was elected Chairman of Kosofe Local Government.
Popularly called Big Daddy, Braimah was very popular not only among his colleagues and politicians but also among the social circle in Lagos well noted for his jovial nature and the ability to mix and make friends with people.
As at the time of filling this report, the cause of his death was officially unknown.
As a Muslim, he was buried today at about 230hrs at Ikoyi Cemetery.
Tunde Braimah is survived by his wife, Yetunde, and children.
