A 200 level student of Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU), Ile-Ife, Miss Ajibola Ayomikun has reportedly died after falling inside a soakaway in BVER, one of the private hostels in the students’ village.
Ayomikun, was said to be a student of the Department of Linguistics and African Languages of the institution.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju said the management is saddened about the unfortunate incident.
He said: “When the news got to us, we immediately mobilized the emergency responders from the Osun State University and OAU Teaching Hospital who through concerted efforts got the student out.”
Olanrewaju said she was thereafter taken to OAU Teaching Hospital complex where she was declared dead.
