The Chairman Obalaju Day Planning Committee and Jagunmolu of Joga Orile, Chief Jamiu Akande Omoniyi, has declared his ambition to run for a seat in the Federal House of Representatives come 2019.
Chief Omoniyi made his intention to represent the people of Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency known while delivering his welcome address at the new Joga Orile Palace Ground along Ilakan road in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Omoniyi said: “By 2018, 2019 and subsequent years, Obalaju Day Celebration will witness more turn out of dignitaries and events that will further shape up the ancient town”.
He told the gathering of his strong desire and passion to develop Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency if given opportunity to represent them at the National Assembly in Abuja.
Jagunmolu said God has used him to commit part of the little resources bequeathed to him to influence many lives positively across the Federal Constituency through Fausatu Asakun Memorial (FAM) Foundation, a Non Governmental Organisation founded by him in 2012.
He noted that the transparent and prudent position of the 2016 committee under his leadership paved way for the foundation laying and commencement of the Ultra Modern Palace where the 2017 celebration took place.
While urging the invited guests, chiefs, families and individuals to donate generously towards the development of Joga Orile and also assist in the completion of the Ultra Modern Palace which is going to be the best in the entire Yewaland when completed.
He challenged the gathering to make it possible for the 2018 celebration to be held under this completed project.
Meanwhile, Oba Adeyemi Olanrewaju Adekeye, Lagori lll, Abepa of Joga Orile, has congratulated all sons and daughters of Joga Orile on this year’s occasion.
The royal father noted that “Obalaju is our forefather that founded Joga Orile town several years ago.”
He urged indigenes of Joga Orile to see the development of Joga as a collective responsibility.
He admonished Joga Orile sons and daughters home and abroad to come home to contribute their own quota towards the ongoing development in Joga-land.
The monarch also appealed to people to support the aspiration of their son who has proved his mettle in all aspect saying that the Federal Constituency will benefit more under his leadership.
