The Osun State House of Assembly election witnessed a low turn out of voters.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ad hoc staff were seen waiting patiently for electorates to come and cast their ballot at some of the polling units visited by WESTERNPOST.
They said the massive turnout experienced in the Presidential and National Assembly elections cannot be compared to today’s election.
Security personnel were seen all over the areas to arrest any ugly situation.
Some of the areas visited by WESTERNPOST are: Osogbo, Ibokun, Ilase- Ijesa, Ilesa East and Ilesa West among others.
Speaking with newsmen, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Diran Odeyemi said the turnout of voters was not impressive.
Odeyemi, who voted at his unit 2, ward 1 in Ibokun town said the turn out of voters was not impressive.l, descibing the election atmosphere as being dull.
Odeyemi, who noted that the low turnout might be due to the fact there was no governorship election in the state, said the party was sure of victory.
Also, All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly candidate for Ilesa West, Hon. Timothy Owoeye urged voters to conduct themeselves in a peaceful manner during and after the Assembly election.
Western Post however gathered that some of the political parties who were involved in vote buying took it to a new dimension.
The electorates were said to have entered a kind of oath taking before they were given money.
