The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged the newly inaugurated exco of the party to commence reconciliation of aggrieved members within the party immediately, following a faction of the party known as the Unity Forum that recently threatened to quit the party on the allegation of marginalisation and highhandedness by the governor.
Held at the state party secretariat, Oke Ado, Ibadan on Tuesday, the inauguration had in attendance top party stalwarts in the state for the inauguration of the new exco across the 351 Wards and 33 local government in the state.
In his charge for the newly inaugurated members, the party’s deputy chairman in the state, Hon. Lekan Adeyemo congratulated and urged them to commence reconciliation of aggrieved members within the party immediately ahead of the 2019 elections.
“Our party constitution says it is mandatory for elected party executives to be sworn-in. All our new party executives in the state have been sworn-in and today we are conducting yours too,” he said.
Adeyemo stated that the state executive had after their inauguration commenced reconciliation of aggrieved party members, which he said, the process was ongoing.
Equally, he urged the newly inaugurated members in the wards and local governments to also replicate such within their various jurisdictions.
In the same vein, the secretary of the party in the state, Mr. Mojeed Olaoya, admonished the newly inaugurated members to ensure that the aggrieved members were reconciled at their various wards and local governments.
Olaoya stated that the peaceful conduct of the congress has shown that the party was the most organised, saying that the party would ensure aggrieved members were reconciled.
It would be recalled that the newly inaugurated members emerged from the last ward and local government congresses of the party across the state.
