2022 Inter-religious Prayer: Osun Workers Smile Home With Car Gifts, TV Sets, Refrigerators, Others

It was jubilation galore as some civil servants in Osun State on Tuesday smiled home with cars and other beautiful prizes to mark the official working resumption of the year 2022.

The Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola also made a redemption of the car refurbishing loan scheme pledge to the workers with the presentation of cheques to that effect to the satisfaction of the teeming workforce.

It would be recalled that qualified workers of the state recently collected and filled forms for car refurbishing loans as approved by Oyetola.

To show their love and excitement for the day, the teeming workforce welcomed the governor and his cabinet members amidst singing and dancing as they walked from the main gate of the secretariat to the Governor’s Office parking lot, the venue of the yearly inter-religious prayer session organised to mark the first workday and herald the New Year.

The workers in their hundreds were led by the State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Jacob Adekomi and the state Head of Service, Dr Festus Olowogboyega Oyebade chanting solidarity songs with other labour leaders repeatedly.

The jubilant workers carried placards with different inscriptions like “Thank you for being there for us”, “Osun workers are saying Thank You”; “We are solidly behind you and your administration”; “Oyetola 4+4” among others as they also lauded his commitment to the growth and development of the state workers.

Speaking at the prayer session, Adekomi appreciated the governor stressing that the state civil service has never had it so good and rewarding.

He noted that the support and love of the governor to the workers has been very exemplary; hence the solidarity for him at all times.

Adekomi, who described Oyetola as the best helmsman and an astute manager of human and material resources of Osun and its workforce, pledged total dupport of workers for the governor’s second term ambition.

He thanked him for the car refurbishing loans which he noted will be greatly beneficial.

In his speech, Governor Oyetola appreciated God and the entire people of the state for their love and support in the outgone year,which he described as very challenging.

The governor maintained that constant payment of salaries as and when due will continue to be held sacrosanct in the new year with a charge to the people to continue to support him with their love and prayers to continue to put smiles on their faces .

While assuring retirees in the state that they would continue to receive their pensions as and when due, the governor promised to redouble his administration’s efforts in meeting up with the obligations of workers owed by the previous administrations.

In their separate lectures, Chief Imam, Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Imam Taofeek Abdulhameed and State Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria,(CAN), Bishop Amos Ogunrinde, charged people to always put God first in whatever they do, saying mans destiny is according to the purpose of God on earth.

The clerics who advocated peaceful coexistence called on the people to see their positions, powers and other worldly things as ephemeral, saying they must be conscious of the day of accountability and stewardship before the Creator.

Prayers were specifically offered for the progress and development of the state and its chief executive, his cabinet members, the entire residents among others.

There were five different brands of exotic cars, which five civil servants drawn from different Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government smiled home with at the end of the program.

The recipients were OSBC news reporter, Mr. Yemi Aboderin, a Public Health Nurse, Mrs. Adeosun Francisca Adebola, a staff of the Ministry of Works, Adepoju Rasak Daramola, a primary school teacher, Mrs. Abiola Grace Aduke, as well as a secondary school teacher, Mr Adeyemo Isiaka Adeoye.

Other workers went home with different prizes like plasma TV and refrigerator among others.
