A 22-year-old man, Akanmu Rasheed, has been sentenced to three months imprisonment by an Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo for housebreaking.
The police prosecutor, ASP. Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the convict committed the crime on January 5th, 2020 at about 3:00am at zone 9 back of Capital Hotel area, Oke Arugbo, Osogbo.
Fagboyinbo further informed the court that the convict did break through the fence and enter the house of one Akinsipe Emmanuel.
He said the offence committed contravened and punishable under section 509 and cap 34 vol. ll law of Osun State, 2002.
The convict admitted guilty of the two charges leveled against him by the police.
The defense counsel, Ibrahim A. Imran apply for the bail of his client and pleaded the court to temper justice with mercy that the convict is till young and promised not to do such crime again.
The Police Prosecutor opposed the bail of the convict. He told the court that the convict did commit similar offence on December 31st, 2019 and arraigned before the Magistrate court 1.
The Magistrate, A.O Ajanaku thereby sentenced him to three months imprisonment with the option of fine of N10,000.
