The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade I is dead.

The revered traditional ruler, who would have been 102 years old this year, passed away on Tuesday evening, while his remains were said to have been deposited in the morgue.

Oba Odulana mounted the throne and became the 39th Olubadan of Ibadan land in 2007.

However, according to calculations, the next Olubadan is likely to be High Chief Saliu A.O Adetunji, the Balogun of Ibadanland who is next in line to the throne.
The Ibadan chieftaincy runs on a democratic system where chiefs progress along two lines until there is a vacancy in any of the lines and they move up the ladder to the Olubadan throne
