Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko has failed to get the state House of Assembly to reverse the impeachment of Speaker Jumoke Akindele and her deputy.
The political atmosphere in the state had been charged following the impeachment carried out late on Tuesday.
Mimiko has been locked in a meeting since Wednesday morning to persuade the assemblymen to reverse the impeachment.
The Governor had summoned the lawmakers to his official quarters at the Government House, Alagbaka, Akure, for over 7 hours amid tight security

An insider at the meeting had confided in WESTERN POST, through text message, that Governor Mimiko was moving to get the lawmakers to reverse the impeachment but the effort had yet to succeed.
