The Ogun State Police Command on Friday said three abducted workers of Obasanjo Holdings have been rescued.

The workers were, according to the Police Spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, rescued unhurt and without paying any ransom.

The rescue came barely 48 hours after gunmen abducted the three workers of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The workers comprising the Financial Controller, Group Auditor and Group Store Manager of Obasanjo Holdings were kidnapped last Wednesday night.

They were abducted by the gunmen in Seseri village, near Kobape in Obafemi-Owode Local Council of the state.

The gunmen, who reportedly shot at the Hilux van the victims were travelling in, dragged them into the bush and took them to an unknown destination.

Oyeyemi, while speaking with journalists in Abeokuta said the victims were released following the pressure mounted on their abductors.

He added that the Anti-Kidnapping and SWAT operatives had been in the bush since the incident happened, mounting serious pressure on the criminals.

Oyeyemi said: “Yes, we mounted a lot of pressure on the kidnappers. Since yesterday (Thursday) our Anti-Kidnapping and SWAT operatives have been in the bush searching for them.

“They were able to trace them to the bush behind Day Waterman College. They have been there since yesterday.

“This evening (Friday), they released them unhurt without any ransom.”

Asked whether any arrests were made, Oyeyemi said: “Not yet. But we are very sure that we will make arrest.”
