5 Governors, Others to Speak on Peace at Muslim Media Ramadan Lecture

Five governors of Niger, Kogi, Kaduna, Katsina and Nasarawa states will join other stakeholders in the country to discuss peace at the 10thRamadan Lecture of the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) in Abuja.
In a statement issued by the Chairman of MMPN, Abuja Chapter, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun, stated that the lecture would hold at the Conference Hall of the National Mosque, Abuja on Sunday June 19, from 10 a.m.
Other stakeholders who will discuss the theme “Peace as a Catalyst for Development, the Media Challenge’’ are Alhaji Muhammad Bello, Minister of FCT, as the chief host and Alhaji Lai Muhammed, Minister of Information and Culture as special guest of honour.
The guest speakers are Prof. Ishaq Akintola, Director, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Hajia Aisha Umar-Yusuf, Editor, Muslim Worldview and Mr. Cemal Yegit of Ufuk Foundation, Turkey.
Alhaji Awwal Ibrahim, Emir of Suleja, is the chairman of the occasion while Prof Is-haq Oloyede, NSCIA Secretary-General, will deliver a keynote address.
Other guests expected at the occasion are Minister of Communications, Alhaji Adebayo Shittu, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives and other lawmakers, Hon. Sulaiman Lasun, and SSA Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Hon. Kafayat Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
All heads of government media as well as some selected private establishments and National President of NUJ, Alhaji Waheed Odusile are also expected at the one-day lecture.
