The governorship aspirant of All Progressives Congress (APC) and National Assembly member representing Yewa South/Ipokia federal constituency, Hon. Abdul-Kabir Adekunle Akinlade, has publicly declared that he is not a desperate governorship aspirant.
Hon. Akinlade popularly called Tripple A’s stated this while fielding questions from our correspondent at the 60th Birthday of Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Governor of Ogun state in Abeokuta.
Akinlade explained that being a governorship aspirants in Ogun State does not mean that he is desperate but due to his passion and love for the good people of the state.
“Because I have volunteered for Ogun State and as a youth I so much believe in not-too-young-to-run agenda. Our youths can participate in political offices at the state and national level.
“I Abdul-Kabir Adekunle Akinlade joined the guber race, after carefully studying Senator Ibikunle Amosun as an SSA on Taxation at Internal Revenue Services (IRS) and Ministry of Women Affairs.”
Akinlade opined that as a member of a progressive party, the All Progressives Congress, we believe so much in the party process and decision-building. And when that decision is made, he will not contest against any candidate that is picked from Yewa to support him.
“I will not contest against any Yewa candidate that is picked by our party, All Progressives Congress, as flag bearer at the February poll come 2019”.
While congratulating Senator Amosun on his 60th Birthday, he described the governor as a builder of modern Ogun State.
“He said as the governor is celebrating his 60th birthday, the good people of Ogun state will be expecting him to commission 60 projects, but he officially commissioned a modern digital studio among others to connect Ogun State with the world,” he said.
According to him, Ogun state Television (OGTV) on DSTV Channel 260 will open doors for development and attract investors to the state. “It will be a great competitor for Multi Choice and DSTV”.
