Ahead of tomorrow’s elections the commission had taken measures to address the challenges of late arrival of materials and men at some Polling Units across the country and the seeming lack of proficiency in the use of the Smart Card Reader (SCR) by some ad-hoc staff, which bedevilled the Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
The commission firmed up its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). It also retrained its ad-hoc staff who would administer the Smart Card Reader.
Also in several layers of briefings ahead of tomorrow’s elections, staff permanent and ad-hoc, were exhorted to step up their communications and to take advantage of the hotlines of the INEC Citizens Contact Centre.
