Russia 2018: Belgium Knock Out Brazil as France Defeat Uruguay


Russia 2018 World Cup is become more interesting as the Red Devils of Belgium exited the Seleção of Brazil in their quarter final match after losing 2-1.
Brazil midfielder, Fernandinho gave the Belgians an early lead on the 13th minute through an own goal after which Manchester City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne doubled the lead on the 31st minute to end the first half 2-0 in favour of Coach Roberto Martínez tutored side.
Renata Augusto, however, rejuvenated Brazil’s World Cup hopes in the second half after he directed a beautifully delicate cross from Coutinho into the bottom corner on the 76th minute to make the game 2-1.
Though the Brazilians tried to force a comeback that could have led to an extra time but, the Belgians held on to end the game 2-1.
In a related development, France defeated Uruguay 2-0 in the other quarter final game played earlier on Friday, July 6.
Real Madrid defender, Raphael Varane opened the score for the French side on the 40th minute after which Antoine Griezmann doubled the score 21 minutes later to end the game 2-0 in favour of France.
The victory eventually sent Uruguay out of the tournament.
France and Belgium are through to the Semi-final of the FIFA 2018 World Cup taking place in Russia.
