The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has advised the new corps members who were deployed to the state to use the opportunity to tap from the human and natural resources available to them in the Sunshine State.
Akeredolu, who gave the advice at the official swearing in ceremony of the 2019 Batch ‘A’ corps members deployed to the state at the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare-Akoko on Friday.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths, Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, said, the newly deployed corps members have ample opportunities to be productive and as well, be good ambassadors of their families.
In her response, the State Coordinator of the scheme, Mrs Grace Akpabio, congratulated the corps members for scaling through the huddles of higher institutions.
She explained that out of the 1,964 deployed, 897 members are female while 1, 067 are males from across the federation.
The Co-ordinator who told them that the scheme will introduce them to extra curricular camp activities that are exciting ,rewarding and memorable. These include lecture on tradition and culture of the yorubas, leadership lectures, Entrepreneurial Training, parade Drills competition amongst others.
The Co-ordinator urged the cooperate organizations, Local Governments and well meaning Nigerians as well as stakeholders to make their presence felt in the camp by having one project or the other, so as to make a remarkable impacts in their lives.
