Tears flowed freely among family members, friends, colleagues and other sympatisers as the remains of the slain National Assembly member, Hon. Olatoye Temitope ‘Sugar’, was laid to rest on Friday in Ibadan.
Hon. Sugar, who until his death, represented Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, was killed on March 9 in Lalupon area of Ibadan, Oyo state capital during the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections.
Many people including a member of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akinmoyede Olafisoye, had been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of the lawmaker.
The final rites began on Tuesday with a service of songs and on Wednesday with a lecture held at Premier hotel Ibadan.
On Thursday, his body was taken to Oyo State House of Assembly for lying-in -state. He was later buried on Fiday at his Everlasting Hotel premises along Ojoo-Iwo road, Ibadan.
Sugar, a former member of Oyo State House of Assembly, won election into the House of Representatives in 2015.
Trying to move over to the Senate, he was the Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial district in the last general elections.
