Wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun has reiterated the present administration’s commitment towards revamping the education sector in the State.

Mrs Abiodun stated this at the 2019 International Youth Day, organised by Junior Chamber International (JCI), held in Lagos, stressing the need for the reform of education in Nigeria to meet international standards and allow Nigerian youths to compete favourably outside the shores of the country.

Mrs Abiodun enjoined the youths to remain committed to the development of the nation and strive to positively impact their various communities, to prepare them for leadership positions.

Earlier in her welcome address, the National President JCI, Adetola Juyitan, acknowledged that youths were blessed with energy, creativity and untapped reservoir of talents, that could be positively utilised for self and national development, with a view to bringing quality leadership to bear.

She applauded the current trend of youth involvement and participation in the country’s polity, adding that the idea would bring about the needed change in several facets of the society.

Meanwhile, Wife of the Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun has congratulated members of the Girls Guide Association of Nigeria (GGAN), on the centenary celebration of the organization in Nigeria, at the opening ceremony of a one week camping program, organised by the association, held in Lagos.

She appreciated the association for its role in training the girl-child through programmes aimed at developing their potentials to the fullest and preparing them to become responsible citizens in the society and world at large.

Mrs Abiodun advised them to sustain the objectives of the association as envisioned by the founder, late Lord Robert Baden Powell.

Earlier, the Chief Commissioner of the association, Mrs Maria Goretti Sule stated that the association had continued to wax stronger through the years in the quality of trainings and programmes regularly carried out for members and underprivileged girls around the country.
