The Youth Leader of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo State and South West, Mogaji Isiak Areokuta has said the former governor of Oyo state Senator Abiola Ajimobi is alive.
The purported news of the death of the former Oyo State governor broke out on Thursday and spread like wildfire.
Speaking with Western Post in a telephone chat on Friday, Mogaji Areokuta declared that Senator Ajimobi is alive, adding that the rumour spread like wildfire due to his status and pedigree.
“Some people were spreading the news yesterday that Ajimobi is dead. I can tell you that the news is not true, and as at this morning, I can tell you he is alive.
“Again, this showed that those who love our boss are few compare to those who do not. Ajimobi is alive,” he declared.
Although, Ajimobi had been sick and was being treated for coronavirus at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos. He was previously on coma but was reported to have left coma in the past few days.
A former Senator, he governed Oyo State for eight years and is currently the APC NWC-recognised National Chairman.
