The Oyo State Police Command on Friday confirmed the arrest of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Chieftain, Pa Olawuwo.
The command’s Police Public Relation Officer, (PPRO), Olugbenga Fadeyi in a telephone conversation with Western Post said the arrest of Pa Olawuwo followed the gruesome murder of Dr. Fatai Aborode.
It will be recalled that Dr. Aborode was shot by unknown gunmen along Ipodun road in Igangan on December 11, 2020. He was then rushed to Olugbon Hospital, Igboora where he was confirmed dead.
According to Fadeyi, the command has commenced investigation into the matter, adding that Pa Oluwo has been remanded in their custody
“Pa Olawuwo was arrested by the police in connection to the gruesome murder of Dr.Aborode and has been in our custody.” he said.
The Police Public Relation, (PPRO), Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi said there is an allegation against him and the police is investigating the matter, and he will be charged to court for further hearing.
When reached for comments on the development, PDP lawmaker representing Ibarapa/ North Central in the state House of Assembly Hon. Peter Ojedokun said he was aware of the arrest of the party chieftain but only the Oyo state police has the reason for the arrest of Pa Olawuwo.
“I heard about the arrest of Pa Olawuwo but I don’t have details on what warranted his arrest, I hope the police will serve justice on the issue,” he said.
