Adepoju Commends Gov. Makinde’s Decision To Conduct LG Election

    The Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan North West Local Government area of Oyo State, Honourable Rahman Adepoju has commended the decision of the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to conduct a free and fair Local Government (LG) election in the state.

    He expressed that the decision is a welcome development.

    Hon Adepoju in a chat with Western Post in Ibadan said the decision of the governor to conduct the election less than two years he assumed office showed that he is a leader with impeccable qualities.

    He added that the LG election decision would no doubt bring about the much-desired development at the grassroots level across the state.

    He said, “Our governor is a leader who fulfils whatever he has said.  He has told the people that he will conduct the local government election and he will do it.

    “He is not like others who didn’t do anything until the last minute they went and conducted election. The election will hold as he has said because whenever he makes a promise, he fulfils it.”

    Speaking on his achievements in terms of development recorded by him,  Honourable Adepoju said he has touched so many lives through various assistance and provisions of social amenities.

    He stated that many people had benefitted from the various health schemes like free eye screening test and provisions drugs,  eyeglasses and cash assistance.

    According to him, many have come to request for one form of assistance or the other, adding that many artisans, businessmen and women from outside have benefitted from his little support scheme.

    “We have also raised the fence around the council to secure the council Secretariat from miscreant who has been coming to burgle the place.

    “We constructed a new gate at the entrance of the council, renovated the customary court at Idi Ope in Eleyele area with provisions of furniture to make it look befitting,” he stated.

    Hon. Adepoju berated the last administration led by former governor Abiola Ajimobi for the setback recorded in the council adding that the administration did not do well.

    “I was here in 2011, I know what I left here, and when I returned again, there were no changes, that is why I am intensifying efforts to effect more positive changes,” he said.

    The council boss said other achievements recorded by his administration include the provision of health centres with modern facilities and boreholes in ward three, five and six in Agbeni area, roofing of office of security personnel in the council among others.

    According to him, his administration gave palliatives to the people when the pandemic struck the nation and the entire world, adding that the Agric department has been resuscitated

    “Our workers are doing fine, and we are not owing them any incentive, we urged the people to be patient and cooperate with this administration as plans are on by governor Makinde to make the economy of the state viable,” he added.
