AFCON Qualifier: Oliseh’s Foreign Invitees To Be Announced This Week

The list of foreign pros for next month’s AFCON qualifier in Tanzania will be announced this week, according to officials.

“We expect in a day or two to make public the list of foreign pros for the AFCON qualifier in Tanzania once we receive it from the coach, Sunday Oliseh,” disclosed NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire.

Oliseh has declared he will only pick the country’s best players based on current form and so his first call-ups are expected to be closely scrutinised by both the media and fans.

The list is expected to include Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi, who last featured for the country against South Africa last year October, as well as the likes of skipper Vincent Enyeama, Ahmed Musa, Odion Ighalo, Rabiu Ibrahim and Kingsley Madu.

It will also be interesting if Oliseh would call up striker Emmanuel Emenike, who has rediscovered his form at Al Ain of Dubai after his brace won them the UAE Super Cup at the weekend but he is not featuring in a top league as desired by the new Eagles handler.

A training camp of 23 players from the domestic league will open in Abuja today with the best players teaming up with the foreign pros in Tanzania for the September 5 clash.
