First Lady Mrs. Aisha Buhari moved to douse growing tension over the state of health of her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari.
She said her husband is not as sick as being perceived and that he has been continued to carry out his responsibilities at this period.
Her declaration contained in a post on her twitter handle @Aishambuhari and on her Facebook page came on a day President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly met at a closed doors session the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Muhammed Abubakar and Group Managing Director of NNPC Baru Makanti.
No photograph of the visit was shown or sent to the media as customary with the Presidential Villa.
But Mrs. Buhari confirmed the two meetings. She thanked Nigerians for their concern, love and prayers over her husband’s health.
She said: “I thank all Nigerians for their concern, love and prayers over my husband’s health status. I wish to inform everyone that his health is not as bad as it is being perceived.
“As it may come to your notice, he is meeting with the Minister of Justice and GMD of NNPC this evening.”
There have been concern and apprehension over Buhari’s health after he was not seen in public for three weeks now.
He has not attended the weekly Federal Executice Council meeting and the Friday Jumat Service in the last three weeks.
On Monday, the Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande asked Nigerians to pray fervently for President Buhari.
He also warned that some political interests were out to cash in on Buhari’s health to further their interests.
