Governor Abiola Ajimobi Oyo State has condemned in strong terms the withdrawal of men of the Nigerian Army from the state security operatives outfit code named Operation Burst, especially as the election period draws nearer.
Ajimobi stated this on Thursday while receiving the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Salisu Muazu at the Governor’s Office, Agodi Ibadan.
He said the presence of the Army among the Operation Burst team would confer a high level of seriousness and discipline in the security outfit.
The governor also used the opportunity to alert the Army authorities of gross violation of the state’s laws by some politicians within the state through illegitimate pasting of posters and erection of bill boards.
He, therefore, appealed to the military authority to ensure immediate return of the Army personnel in to the Operation Burst team to ensure that the foundation of peace in the state is not destroyed.
In his remarks the GOC 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Muazu assured the state governor that the Nigerian Army would continue to provide the necessary support to ensure that the existing peace in the state is not jeopardized.
He commended the governor for the transformation agenda that has made the state one of the cleanest states in the country.
