Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi has dissolved the boards of all the state-owned parastatals. This dissolution of the boards of parastatals was contained in a statement issued in Ibadan by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Festus Adedayo. The development, according to Adedayo, was aimed at strengthening the parastatals for better service delivery. Ajimobi expressed appreciation to the outgoing members of the boards for their commitment and service to the people of the state.
The governor had in October last year dissolved the state executive council, and reconstituted same over a month later.
The dissolution of the EXCO and board of parastatals is believed to be aimed at paving the grounds for appointment of allies that can boost the governor’s re election in 2015.
