The governor, while performing the inauguration ceremony at the Governor’s Office Car Park, said the patrol vehicles were aimed at fortifying the activities of Operation Burst in combating crimes and criminality in the state.
The vehicles were purchased by the state Security Trust Fund headed by Dr. Olatunde Ayeni, who is also the Chairman of Skye Bank.
Governor Ajimobi expressed serious concern over the security situation in the country, saying there was the need for all Nigerians to be security conscious and that state governments should also accord priority to security in their various states.

He also used the opportunity to call on the entire citizens of the state to be vigilant and report to security agents any unusual movement of people around any abandoned building or bushy areas.
He admonished the people to avoid street trading and unnecessary crowding to forestall the machinations of evil doers.
The Chairman of the Trust Fund, Dr. Ayeni said the provision of the operational vehicles would contribute immensely towards the reduction of crimes in the state.
Dr. Ayeni said the trust fund, which is a public and private participation arrangement, donated the vehicles to compliment government’s effort towards fortifying the state against criminal activities.
He said Oyo state is now more friendly and very attractive for foreign investment due to the bold steps taken by Governor Ajimobi on security of lives and property.
He emphasized the importance of private participation in the provision of adequate security stressing that Government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of security in the state.
In his remarks, the special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Mr Segun Abolarinwa, said the state security outfit code named Operation Burst had assisted the state in reducing its criminal activities.
