Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi has approved the appointment of Dr. Emmanuel Olugbade Ojo as his new Special Adviser on Political Matters.
This was contained in a statement issued in Ibadan on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dr. Festus Adedayo.
Dr. Ojo, who, until his appointment, was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, University of Ilorin, obtained his Bachelor and Master degrees in Political Science from the University of Ibadan in 1990 and 1992 respectively, capping it with a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the same institution in 2002.
He joined the services of the University of Ilorin in 1995 as an Assistant Lecturer and was elevated to the position of Senior Lecturer on October 1st, 2003.
Dr. Ojo, whose research interests include Federalism and Comparative Politics, Democratization and Political Communication, has over 70 articles in both local and international journals and chapter contributions to his credit, while he has also authors several books in his field.
The don, who has also attended both local and foreign conferences, is a member of several learned/professional bodies including the Nigerian Political Science Association, African Association of Political Science, American Studies Association of Nigeria and the National Association of Social Studies Educationists, among others.
The appointment, according to the statement, takes immediate effect.
