As the Ondo State gubernatorial election draws closer, a group known as Democratic Peace Movement has thrown its weight behind the re-election of Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of the state ahead of the governorship poll.
The group within the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) called Aketi 2020 on Monday sought for the re-election of the governor.
The group, which consists mostly appointees of the governor, said: “the second term for Akeredolu is not negotiable.”
Speaking during a press conference in Akure, Ondo State capital, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Gbenga Ale, said Akeredolu deserved the party’s ticket to re-contest in order to continue the developmental strides he initiated.
Also, the Chairman of the state Universal Basic Education, Princess Oladunni Odu, said the governor had done tremendously well in the area of education in terms of building-renovation, reconstruction and other necessities of the schools across the state.
Governor Akeredolu may have some aspirants to contend with in the primaries, but some of these aspirants are at present working underground.
