The Students Union leader of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ijanusi Olawale, has said that the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi is playing politics with their future, thereby, wasting away their precious future.
He made the assertion in a press statement issued on Sunday and made available to Westernpost that, the students have been at home since 2017, just because the Governor is looking for ways by which he can increase the tuition fee from what it is to what the parents would not be able to afford.
According to him, “We have waited endlessly just because the governor wants to increase the tuition fee, for how long shall we continue to stay at home wasting away.”
The Union leader however affirmed that, if the state government refuses to reopen the school under 7 days, that the entire state will be brought to halt as their future is being wasting away by the politics of antics of the government.
It would be recalled that, the state government held a stakeholders meeting with the concerned citizens and the parents in the University Main auditorium few weeks ago, where it was stated , under the Pro Chancellor of the institution, Dr Tunji Abayomi, that the new fee to be introduced would be moderate and affordable .
However, reactions have trailed the decision of the state government over the increase which is believed that it would affect the sons and daughters of the common man in the state, mostly this period that the economy of the country is in bad shape.
