A leading aspirant for the office of Amalgamated Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Chairman in Ogun State, Otunba Nurudeen Aina (Alowonle) has distributed over 2000 helmets to commercial motorcycle riders in Remo axis of the state for the commemoration of the 34th AKESAN day.
He said that in building up for the event, he has also distributed 2500 helmets to same commercial motorcycle riders across Remo Federal Constituency, so as to aid the safety of the riders in the area.
Addressing newsmen after the distribution, Alowonle stated that the primary aim of the exercise was aimed to aid the safety of the commercial motorcycle riders in the area, which according to him was the priority of life, instead of paying lip services to the welfare of the riders.
He added that it was imperative to any organization whether governmental or non-governmental to pay much attention to the lives of its people through showing them loves, cares and mercies.
“Indeed, I was once a commercial motorcycle rider in this state, and am so much cherish life, value safety, so it is my wish to do it and am going to replicate this feat across the twenty local governments in the state.
“Before anything, we must see to the safety of our riders, I am not doing this primarily to earn fame or pride, not even for monetary aspects, but to save lives. I have done this before, am doing it now and I vow to do more especially for the safety of our people”, Alowonle said
He said some people are not bothered about the motorcycle riders’ safety in the state, but they are after what they would earn and become in the helms of the affairs of the association, saying that safety of its members supposed to their priority before anything else.
The young philanthropist and successful businessman later made grand entry into the venue of the 34th AKESAN day celebration in Iperu, alongside Titilayo Akibu (Efele), Akeem Iyeru and the National President of AMORAN, Alhaji Shamsondeen Adebayo Apelogun (All Rounder).
