His Royal Majesty, Oba Olufemi Jacob Omolade, Olubara of Ibara, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, and former deputy governor of Ogun State, Alhaja Salmot Makanjuola Badru have joined other sons and daughters of Yewaland to lay the foundation for Yewa Unity House in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government.
The Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, who was represented by his loyalist, Hon. Ablbdul Kabir Adekunle Akinlade, and His Royal Majesty Oba Olufemi Jacob Omolade, Olubara of Ibara, led other prominent Yewa indigenes and friends of Yewaland to lay the foundation of the Yewa Unity House in Ilaro.
The building was facilitated by members of Yewa Think Tank (YTT), an association of Yewa elites. It will serve as a symbol of unity and monument on Yewa history, culture and tradition.
The building will also serve as Secretariat, library and venue of meetings for Yewa groups and associations from any part of Yewa land.
Oba Dr Jacob Omolade, Lafa II, Olubara of Ibaraland. who was also doubled as chairman of the occasion, appreciated members of Yewa Think Tank (YTT) for their belief in the development of Yewaland and its environs.
He charged other groups, clubs and societies in Yewaland to emulate the good deed of Yewa Think Tank YTT as they have recorded meaningful achievements since inception.
He also used the forum to advise all sons and daughters of Yewa land about the 2019 Yewa agenda, saying come 2019, a Yewa indigene will become the governor of Ogun State.
Oba Omolade said the emergence of a Yewa consensus governorship candidate cannot be done alone by politicians, because traditional rulers will also play their own part to ensure a peaceful process.
Also, Prof. Ayo Alabi, President Yewa Think Tank (YTT), thanked the lord for how far he has led them in the past.
Dignitaries who graced the occasion included Oba Dr Jacob Omolade (Lafa II) Olubara of Ibara; Oba Nathaniel Fashina, Onitoro Of Itoro; Oba (Engr) Olanlowo, Alademeso of Igan Alade, and former deputy governor of Ogun state, Alhaja Badru.
Others were Hon. Akinlade Triple A’s, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka GNI, Alhaji Ayo Adeyemi, President Yewa Union Lagos State, Chief Dele Oderinde Ketu District, Prof Rahman Bello, former Vice Chancellor University of Lagos, Prof Tope Popoola of Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Prof Anthony Asiwaju, Senator Solomon Olamileka Adeola represented by Chief Kayode Odunaro, Engr Yetede and Femi Dokunmu.
