The political unrest that reared its ugly head within Akure metropolis on Saturday night and Sunday morning has been put under the control of the Department of State Security Service (DSS).
A reliable source hinted WESTERN POST that popular Ade Basket was arrested with five others who were suspected to be working for a particular governorship candidate in the state, alleged to be causing political unrest.
More so, the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state, Mr. Adebo, popularly known as Ìdájọ́, was said to have been on the run, hearing DSS raid in the state.
Ìdájọ́ was said to have been working and going around causing unnecessary unrest in the state capital.
It would be recalled that several people were injured on Saturday night, eventually leading to the death of a young man at the oke Jebu axis of the metropolis.
However, feelers had it that the fracas, which continued again on Sunday morning must have prompted the men of the DSS to clamp down on the trouble-makers.
The whereabouts of the NURTW Chairman was unknown at the time of filing this report.
