Honorable Commissioner of Lagos Ministry Of Establishment,Training and Pensions Dr Akintola Benson-Oke today said the Lagos State Governor ,Mr Akinwumi Ambode values the immeasurable efforts of the Lagos Civil Servants. Oke said this at the opening session of a two day workshop tagged ‘Human Resources as a vital tool in Lagos State Civil Service’ which was organised by the Lagos State ministry of Establishment, Training and Pensions in conjunction with Messrs.Geum Consulting .
In his address to participants of the training ,the commissioner stressed that since inception of the training , it has focused on the developmental soft skills required to transform formally- acquired hard skills into tangible value as he praised the enhancement of the leadership skills of the senior officers in the Lagos State Civil Service without which exponential productivity cannot occur.
He noted that the Lagos State is one of the best -served state in terms of quality of civil service and Oke owes this to the doggedness and astuteness of Ambode in leading Lagos State to the desired goals in the face of national economic challenges and revenue shortfalls.
During an interview with journalists, commissioner of Establishment,Trainings and Pensions also praised the Jagarban of Africa who turns 65 tomorrow,Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for investing in human capital as they are the ones who drives the resources of Nigeria and Mr Akinwumi Ambode has borrowed a leave from that by investing in the civil servants of Lagos which participants of the training are very grateful of.
Director of Training at the ministry Mr Ayodeji Aruna told participants at the workshop the Lagos State Government is committed to human capacity development because Infrastructure amounts to nothing without skill.He said this workshop will make the participants useful to themselves , subordinate, superiors and the society at large
The two day training is to focus on management of human resources and extract the best optimal performance .
