The Ogun State Government has called for more concerted efforts from stakeholders towards the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to socio-economy development, across the state.
The State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun made the call at the 2017 Annual Conference of Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (ISMN) tagged: “Strategy and Opportunity: Options for Industrial Sector in Depressed Economy”, held in Abeokuta.
Represented by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, Amosun noted that the call became imperative in order to promote the sector’s potentials in achieving industrialisation efforts and policies of the Federal Government to diversify the nation’s economy.
He said that the State government was committed to increasing productivity and ensuring sustainable industrialisation and diversification of productive activities for economic growth and poverty reduction.
Amosun commended the Institute for considering the State, saying that the war against poverty and Nigeria’s quest for industrialisation would require collective efforts of all relevant government agencies and the private
Earlier in their remarks, the guest speakers at the conference, Mrs Lampe Omoleye and Mrs Omolara Elemide, stressed the need for innovative thinking and regular training of staff to prepare them for future challenges.
