Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun has described the Nigerian-born British Boxer, Anthony Joshua, as a good Ambassador of the state, with exceptional attitude, despite his status.
The Governor while paying host to the Boxing Champion’s father, Mr. Jonathan Taiwo Joshua, in his office in Abeokuta, expressed delight at the warm reception given to him by the world heavyweight boxing champion when he visited United Kingdom, to watch his last fight.
Amosun commended him for identifying with his root, noting that such attitude would place him among the world’s greatest sportsmen.
“I was so delighted by his show of love during my last visit to watch his match in the United Kingdom. His enthusiasm to identify with his root is so amazing and I want to say with confidence that with such attitude, he will be among the world greatest sportsmen”.
In his remark, Mr. Joshua, appreciated the state government and Nigeria at large, for the recognition being bestowed on his family, saying his son was a disciplined and devoted sportsman who still has plenty to offer the boxing world.
