Members of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyor (NIQS) have been charged to adopt modern technologies in the discharge of their professional duties for better service delivery.
The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun gave the charge while receiving the leadership of the institute led by the National President, Mrs Mercy Iyortyer, who paid him a courtesy visit at his Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The Governor, acknowledged the strategic importance of professionals in successful development of projects in the society, charging Quantity Surveyors to adopt new technologies that would further promote them to meet up with world best standard.
While commending the institute for its roles in governance, the Governor said “there can be no development without the touch of professionalism in building industry” assuring that his administration would continue to support and collaborate with professional bodies to engender world best practices in project execution.
Earlier, the President of the Institute, Mrs Mercy Iyortyer, commended the State government for the on- going projects across the State, noting that the provision of infrastructural facilities was very key to the development of any nation.
Mrs. Iyortyer lauded the governor for giving priority to infrastructural facilities, explaining that investment in socio-economic development would attract more investors into the state, assuring the Governor of her institute’s support for the administration.
