Amosun Will Provide Standard Secondary, Tertiary Health Facilities

In a bid to consolidate on the achievements in the health sector, Ogun State Government has assured its readiness to provide Secondary and Tertiary health facilities of international standard for a healthier citizenry.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun made this known during the 60th National Council on Health tagged ” Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) and the Health Sector: Matters Arising’’ held at the Cultural centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.

He noted that his administration had greatly invested in procurement of State-of-the-art medical facilities like radio diagnostic equipment for the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital Sagamu among others in order to ensure better health care services for the people of the State.

On his part, the State Health Commissioner, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye commended the Minister of Health and his team for trusting Ogun State to host the land mark 60th council, highlighting some of the achievement of the present administration to include; ultra modern comprehensive health centres, provision of radio diagnostic centre for Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital and renovation of several health facilities among others.

In his good will message the Country Director, Centre for Disease Control, Dr. Dalhatu Ibrahim, urged the council to implement all health policies accordingly, saying the State had a potential of becoming a major player in the world economy.

Meanwhile, Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has promised to build three states- of art- health facilities in each of the three senatorial districts in the State towards promoting healthy living among the people.

Governor who made this known at the 2017 Treasury Board meeting in Abeokuta said the health facilities would be of international standard so as to facilitate efficient health care service delivery to the citizenry.

“The health facilities would be of high standard so that I can personally go there when I need health care service and not going elsewhere for treatment “, He said.

He said intention behind the health facilities was to work in line with the sustainable Development Goals towards ensuring efficient, affordable and accessible health care service delivery in the state.
