Suspected Fulani herdsmen in the early hours of Wednesday attacked men of the Ondo State Security Network codenamed, Amotekun Corps.
The attack occurred at the Government Forest Reserve at Ago Sanusi along Ute Road in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area.
The herders were said to have shot and killed a member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria working with the security agency.
A farmer simply named Lanre and popularly known as Lado had earlier been reportedly abducted by the hoodlums.
It was learnt that Lado’s corpse was later found with his right and left hands cut off.
Oluwasesan Adebayo, head of operations of the Amotekun security outfit in Owo, was reported to be missing.
Adebayo has not been found and his whereabouts is yet unknown.
The Amotekun men were said to have gone into the forest reserve on the trail of some suspected criminals after receiving a tip off from some farmers.
It was gathered that the Fulani herdsmen, who were heavily armed with sophisticated weapons, had laid ambush for them
