The Kwara State governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has been commended for his efforts in the Education Sector in the last few months.
The President, All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Kwara State Chapter, Alh. Toyin Abdullahi gave the commendation during the presentation of N5 million cheque to ANCOPSS for the payment of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 1000 indigent students across the 16 LGA of the state.
The presentation of the cheque was done by Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Fatimah Bisola Ahmed, at her office on Tuesday.
Abdullahi said the gesture by Mallam AbdulRazaq would go a long way in putting education in the heart of the students as well as give them the opportunity to continue their education in order to be useful in the society.
He, however, reassured the present administration of their support in its bid to take the education sector to a higher level.
Earlier, the Hon Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Fatimah Ahmed expressed her appreciation to the present administration under the leadership of Governor AbdulRazaq for ensuring dividends of democracy reach the doorsteps of the common man.
She, therefore, implored the executive of ANCOPSS to ensure that the distribution cuts across the 16 LGAs in the State.
The cheque presentation was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Principals officers from the Ministry and ANCOPSS executives.
