A Chieftain of All Progressive Congress, Hon. Blessing Aisha Ekele from Olamaboro local government of kogi state has said after many years in the drawing board, the inauguration of Igala Unity House at Anyigba yesterday is a dream come true.
The APC woman leader who contested the last party primary election for Ankpa, Olamaboro/Omalla Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives commended the resilient of the Igala leaders, especially Chief Edward Onoja, the chief of staff to Governor Yahaya Bello, who stood his ground to see that the Igala race has a befitting cultural house of their own.
She stated that the inauguration of the Igala unity House under the present father of Igala kingdom, His Royal Majesty Dr Micheal Idakwo Oboni11 marked a watershed in the history of Igala nation in their quest to reposition the tribe and its values, including exposing its rich culture in the modern day Nigeria and the world in general.
Hon. Blessing Ekele who holds the title of Magajia 1 of Yakanajie Uke kingdom in Nassarawa state stressed further that the coming on the stream of the Igala Unity House has no doubt refreshed the tribe among the committee of great tribes in the world; adding that as Arewa House is to Hausa speaking people, so is the Unity House to Igala race.
While she commended the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his huge financially assistant which made the Igala unity House project to see the light of the day, she eulogised other Igala leaders who contributed immensely to the project that has become a proud edifice of Igala nation.
“The idea to transform Ata Igala House at Anyigba, as it was then called has been a recurring decimal, especially among Igala leaders, elite and other stakeholders for a decade. We thank God that the idea has become a reality under the present administration led by Alhaji Yahaya Bello who incidentally is not even of Igala tribe. It’s a credit to him, and other people who made the Igala race all over the world proud because of the reality of the beautiful and imposing edifice called Igala Unity House” , she expressed.
She therefore commended all the socio- cultural Associations of Igala race for their roles, especially the Igala cultural Development Association (ICDA) under the tutelage of Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Amodu who’s during his leadership such a proud edifice that has given a new name to the Igala speaking people all over the world came into being.
