A seasoned financial expert and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Hon. Taofeek Rahman “Ogbori”, has been honoured by his Alma Mater Osun State College of Education (OSSCE), United Kingdom Alumni for his laudable contributions to the development of the institution, while appealing to Nigerians in the diaspora to give to their alma mater and Nigeria through the diversification project of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The APC chieftain made the appeal in London on Sunday at the Castle Tavern Amma’s fare, 179 Powis Street, where he was hosted by the Osun State College of Education (OSSCE), United Kingdom Alumni.

Hon. Rahman who was the chairman of the maiden re-union committee of OSSCE, challenged the Alumni to give back to the Nigerian economy, saying this was the time the nation needed their wealth of experience and exposure.

“My wonderful brothers and sisters, this is the right time Nigeria needs your enhanced capacity and exposure and I will be fulfilled if this meeting gives even little back to the system that turned them to what they are today.”

While appreciating them for the gesture  which according to him, was the first of its kind, he said there was no place like home, adding that the memory would continue to linger on in his memory, because it was the first in the history of the institution.

Earlier in her speech, the administrator and initiator of the programme, Mrs Aderonke Yetunde Odunlami, said most of them in the diaspora are planning to look inward to invest at home, saying the Federal Government should also put up an enabling environment for them to give back to the country due to harsh experience some of the had encountered in foreign lands .
