Adeola Oladele, Ibadan
An Ibadan based legal practitioner, Barrister Adebayo Shittu has appealed to the leadership of the National Assembly to listen to the leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC), and take the opportunity opened to them to resolve the in-fighting among members over position-sharing in both the Senate and House of Representatives.
Barrister Shittu, who is also a chieftain of the party in the state made the appeal on Monday in Ibadan while speaking with WP on what Nigerians should be expecting from members of the National Assembly on 28th July when they resume plenary.
Shittu, while commenting on the resumption date of the NASS and the sharp division brought about as a result of the position-sharing in the green chamber, appealed to the leadership of both the Senate and House of Representatives members to use the opportunity opened to them to resolve the issues among members over position sharing in both houses.
He appealed to the lawmakers to listen to the leadership of the party to decide on the remaining positions because, they know what is good for the party.
Similarly, another lawyer, Barrister Peter Idowu also appealed to members of the National Assembly to be careful in the way they go about the issue so that it would not lead to factionalization of APC.
The duo then called on President Muhammadu Buhari to strengthen the anti-corruption agencies in the country in such a way that people of high integrity would be in charge.
