APC Commences Screening of Aspirants in Kogi

The All Progressive Congress APC  has on Thursday commenced the screening exercise  of all the governorship aspirants jostling to contest the Party’s  primary ahead of August 29th, 2019.

The Chairman of the7-man of Kogi State APC primaries Screening Committee , Senator Hope Uzodinma ,while addressing the aspirants at the APC Secretariat in Lokoja on Thursday, said that the the committee is in Kogi for a brief assignment to screen aspirants who has shown interest in the affairs of the state.

Uzodinma who was  APC candidate in the last  Imo State governorship election in March, 2019, stated that the duty of the committee is line with party’s constitution to bring aspirants together and do one on one interaction with them and inform them of their qualification .

“Kogi is APC State, It is our prayers that APC win . What we are doing today will be the beginning of the success. We will recall what happened in Taraba State where APC candidate  was disqualified because the screening exercise was not properly carried out.

“We are going to do a thorough job ,assuring that none of you will be  short changed or harassed, though a contest between 16 aspirants. You have to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship as only one will win,” he stressed.

He urged them to be calmed and be peaceful, stressing that the task  ahead of the screening committee is how to ensure that all other 15 q work for whoever emerged as the party’s flag bearer.

The Screening Committee is expected to screen 16 aspirants including two females  who have signified interest in the governorship race.

Those who attended the screening exercise yesterday  are the incumbent governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Seidu Mohammed Ogar ,Tunde Irukera, Jubrin Usman , Mustapha ,Yakubu Muhammed Mustapa Audu ,Yahaya Audu, Sani Lulu ,Hadiza Ibrahim,Rukaya Ibrahim, Baahiru Gegu, and others.
