The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed its congresses and national convention. The Congresses had earlier scheduled to begin on July 24
The party, in a letter sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), dated July 6, and signed by National Chairman, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni and Secretary, Sen. John James Akpan Udoedehe said the congresses and national convention have been shifted to a later date without specifying the reason why.
The letter reads: “We refer to our letter reference number APC/NHDQ/INWC/19/023/20 dated 10th June, 2020 on the above subject and wish to inform the Commission that the party has rescheduled its Congresses and National Convention to a later date which will be communicated to you.
“This serves as a formal notification pursuant to the provisions of section 85of the Electoral Act (2010) as amended.”
With the rescheduling of the congresses, the coast is now clear for the council polls in Lagos and Ogun states, billed to take place on July 24.
