The police have cleared the air over the alleged sealing of the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja.
Force Public Relations Officer Frank Mba said in a statement on Tuesday night that the initial presence of policemen at the secretariat was to prevent violence at the office.
He, however, said having been satisfied with the development at the office, members of APC and staff of the secretariat could go about their activities unmolested.
The party has been engulfed by a crisis, which had engendered the suspension of the National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole.
Oshiomhole and his estranged political son, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State have been entangled in a supremacy battle.
Disqualified from participating in the APC governorship primaries, Obaseki has now defected to the Peoples Democratic Party where he hopes to get the party’s ticket to contest for re-election.
