Alimi who was suspended at the ward level was a commissioner during the tenure of the immediate past governor of the state, Rauf Aregbesola.

He is presently a senior legislative aide to the Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

His suspension was contained in a letter jointly signed by Elerin C Ward 9, Irepodun South Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Erin-Osun, a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Friday.

In the suspension letter jointly signed by 18 wards executives, including the chairman; vice-chairman, and PRO; Adebayo Tajudeen; Ibiyemi Kayode, and Adebayo Abdulgafar respectively, Alimi’s membership of the party was terminated for “various anti-party activities.”

The letter reads:“We reviewed the various anti-party activities of Barrister Kolapo Moruff Alimi and we concluded that he is due for suspension.

“As the elders and stakeholders of the party have been duly carried along, he is hereby suspended from the party, APC.”

It was gathered that Alimi was suspended for joining other loyalists of Aregbesola to form The Progressives Congress (TOP), a splinter group in the party.
